code of conduct

Everyone on Omaha ForUs property or attending Omaha ForUs-sponsored events has the right to safety, respect, and dignity, as well as the obligation to behave in a manner that affords the same to all staff, volunteers, clients, participants, visitors, and neighbors. If you plan on visiting our space or events, please review our code of conduct.

On Omaha ForUs property,
all visitors shall:
  • Check in and out with front desk staff or a volunteer before/after accessing programs, services, or space.
  • Occupy Omaha ForUs facilities only during hours of operation.
  • Be at least 13 years old to utilize Omaha ForUs space, programs, or services without direct supervision of parent, guardian, or adult caregiver. 
  • Be at least 19 years old to utilize services designated for adults.
  • Prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of Omaha ForUs staff, volunteers, and visitors by not photographing, recording, or otherwise disclosing the identities of these individuals without express consent.
  • Utilize headphones at all times while consuming any noise-emitting audio/visual content, including telephone calls, social media, webinars, entertainment, etc. 
  • Consent to staff/volunteer searches of purses, bags, backpacks, briefcases, and/or other packages for prohibited materials and safety, upon request.
  • Notify staff immediately of suspicious items, persons, or behaviors.
  • Adhere to staff instructions, posted placards, and code of conduct.
On Omaha ForUs property,
NO visitors shall:
  • Possess, brandish, display, or conceal a firearm or weapon of any kind.
  • Engage in verbal or physical aggression, including use of hate speech, excessive profanity or yelling, threats or threatening gestures, harassment, intimidation, or assault.
  • Display verbal or physical aggression, including threats, threatening gestures, intimidation, harassment, and violence in all forms.
  • Possess, use, or distribute cannabis, alcohol, or non-prescribed pharmaceuticals, or misuse prescribed pharmaceuticals.
  • Improperly deposit refuse, bodily fluids, or biohazardous materials on Omaha ForUs property, inside or outside of the building. 
  • Sell merchandise or solicit goods/services without express permission.
  • Use smokeless tobacco, vape, electronic, heat, or lit cigarettes/cigars inside facilities or within 15 feet of any building entryway.
  • Produce noise levels which disrupt other visitors, volunteers, staff, or neighbors/tenants.
  • Have unsupervised or roaming pets of any kind. Only trained service animals (SA) are authorized in the space without express written permission. All persons are responsible for the actions of their animals.
  • Emit strong or offensive odor, including perfume or cologne.
  • Perform media or commercial photography and/or video without express written permission from Omaha ForUs’ Executive Director.
  • Enter staff designated areas without express permission or invitation.
  • Leave personal belongings, including purses, bags, backpacks, laptops, mobile phones, or other devices unattended.
    • Omaha ForUs assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. Abandoned items (those left unattended for more than two (2) hours may be removed or discarded without notice).
  • Any person loitering on Omaha ForUs property in a suspicious manner or using facilities for any purpose other than their intended purpose is subject to the direction and discretion of staff.

PLEASE NOTE:

Illegal activity, as well as any willful or repeated violations of this code of conduct or other Omaha ForUs rules and regulations, may result in removal from the facility and/or suspension from the building and grounds or off-site Omaha ForUs-sponsored events/activities. In addition, where authorized by federal, state, or local law, violations of this code of conduct may also result in arrest.

For repeated violations, the length of suspension and/or exclusion from Omaha ForUs property, grounds, and/or events is determined by the Omaha ForUs Executive Director. Omaha ForUs’ management reserves the right to modify the length of a term for suspension of visitation privileges based on administrative review.
