programs & services

Live your best life with options that best fit your mental health needs. We currently offer individual therapy sessions and a range of support groups.

Therapy services

Our therapy services provide LGBTQ+ people with an affirming physical and emotional environment. Together, we'll work through everyday problems and stressors.

Our mental health health therapist, CJ Elliott, LIMHP, LICSW, is currently accepting appointments. Please call 402-898-1113 to complete the intake process and schedule an appointment. All in-person appointments will take place at our Verve Collaborative Health satellite office.

What to expect

Call the intake line at 402-898-1113, ask for CJ Elliott, and the Verve Collaborative Health intake coordinators will help you. The intake process will identify your unique needs. If a different provider is more appropriate for those needs, or we've reached appointment capacity, we may refer you to one of our trusted, local partners.

Payment

Coverage varies by plan. Check your benefits from your specific plan.

Meet our therapist

CJ (LIMHP, LICSW) is Omaha ForUs’ mental health practitioner and co-facilitator of support groups. With roots in social work and education, they believe individuals are the experts of their own lives and partners with them to build a trauma-informed therapeutic relationship focused on compassion and care.

Support groups

Support groups offer community members a space to create connections and foster hope. These peer-led groups are facilitated by background-checked community members who’ve been trained in Mental Health First Aid.

We determine the frequency and topics of support groups based on participants’ interests and our facilitators’ capacity. We may offer more frequent meetings or expanded topics in the future. Some support groups require registration, which is noted in their descriptions.

Please be on time for support groups — late admittance is not permitted due to establishing norms at the beginning of group.

Parents and caregivers

This virtual support group is for caregivers and other adult family members of LGBTQ+ folks of any age.

This group is hosted the third Wednesday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. on Zoom.

To be added to the group, email facilitator Cameron Koenig-Barker, LICSW at cameron.james.koenig@gmail.com.

Adult (19+)

This is a mental health support group for LGBTQ+ adults (ages 19+) focused on the intersections of mental health and LGBTQ+ identity.

This group is hosted from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The first and third Wednesday of the month is a Zoom meeting, and the second and third Wednesday of the month is an in person meeting.

Registration is required and opens the Thursday before each group. Please visit our events page to register for the next group and contact us with any questions!
